Our plans for the next day to get our top-tier tour from Greg around Intramuros was canceled due to rains that day, so Mark and I headed to the national museums located around the area. All the museums were free and jammed full of interesting stuff and history. We went to the natural history museum, and the anthropology museum. As with our other museum visit, we went though everything very slowly, soaking up as much knowledge as possible, making sure every nook and cranny was inspected. Between learning about Philippine Eagles, corals, venomous snails, traditional garb, instruments, and rice harvesting, we wandered around and tried some street food, and I made Mark try eating Jollibees, the Filipino McDonald’s one might say. It was jammed full of people and the line confused Mark, and he grabbed a burgie to try, but observed how many people were eating the spaghetti. We took selfies with the Jollibee outside, found some fried plantains, green mango with shrimp paste, and some soups. After snacking and educating ourselves, we took another stroll back to Greg’s. We were hungry and Greg was not that evening so Mark and I walked down to the Robinson’s mall to grab some food. I saw an inasal location that had Halo-Halo, a dessert I wanted Mark to try. They told me they were out of Ube, the delicious purple sweet potato, ice cream, but had vanilla left. Greg called me a purist when I told him I declined the halo-halo, because to me I figured it must contain that purple scoop on top. We dined at the Vietnamese place Greg suggested and stumbled back to base for bed to wake up for the airport the next morning.
